Short delivery time:

Valves, actuators, etc. that are required with short delivery time typically come from stock or are manufactured by dedicated manufacturers who focus on time and not on price.

Standard delivery time:

The standard delivery time is in many cases the factory delivery time.
The factory delivery time or lead time depends on several things:

  • Requested quantity
  • Requested material
  • Standard or non-standard design
  • Where is the valve manufactured, delivery times can differ per factory, even within the same group.
  • Factory load
The difference between a floating ball valve and a trunnion mounted ball valve

A floating ball valve has fixed seats and a ball that can "floats" between the seats. This movement is initiated by the medium pressure.

A trunnion mounted ball valve has a fixed ball. It is fixated by the trunnions. The seats move towards the ball due to the medium pressure and supported by springs.

Materials (Forged, cast, ASME, DIN)

Basically valves are made from casting and forgings. With gate, globe & check valves valves are typically forged till 2", from 2" and bigger they are normally made from cast material. For ball valves it is more depandant on the type of construction. Smaller valves can be either cast or forged but with bigger ones the 2 piece desing is cast and the 3 piece desing is made from forged material.

Of course there are exeptions and differenses with specific designs.

The difference between an API 600 and API 6D gate valve

With the API 600 gate valve the wedge is not completely out of the flow, if you look from one side to the other you could see the bottom part of the wedge. With an API 6D gate valve the bore of the valve is identical to that of the pipe. There is no obstruction in the flow path.

The difference between an API 600 and API 6D check valve

A "API 600" check valve does not fully open. The disc does not go out of the flow path. The roung bore is flattened at the top if you look from one side to the other. An API 6D check valve fully open. This is often required to let a pig pass though the valve.

Often called a API 600 check valve but formally this incorrect.

Fire safe gate, globe and check valves

Some times people request a fire safe certified gate, globe or check valve and they specify a metal seated valve. Typically these valves do not have a fire safe certification because they are inherently fire safe as there is no soft sealing parts between the closing member and the seats.

Can you provide actuators?

We represent actuator manufacturers that cover a part of the different types of actuators, these are mainly pneumatic and hydraulic ones. For electric actuators we can offer the various brands which the customer has approved or we can select on based on the requirements.

Can you provide all actuator brands?

In principal we can offer any brand of actuator.

What type of actuators can we provide?

Pneumatic (scotch yoke, flat yoke, rack & pinion, rack & gear, compact, piston), Hydraulic (scotch yoke, compact), Gas over oil, Direct gas, Electric, Electro hydraulic, Electric spring return. And even the ones that are not mentioned here.

For which applications do we supply valves?

The list will be too long to list all the applications but we can cover most from the upstream, modstream and downstream or oil, gas, (petro)chemical and power industry.

Is there a difference between gearboxes  / gear operatorof the same type?

Of course there are the obvious differences in quality but also in performance. We offer a high performance gearbox that significantly reduces the amount of turns, time and force required to open or close a valve.
